Holiday Upgrades to the Render Farm

Hello everyone, hope you all enjoyed the holidays and had a merry ol’ time. We at Abbott Animation must have been especially good this year, check out what Santa brought us – a couple of brand spanking new render nodes!

Okay, so some assembly was required. At the heart of each machine is an AMD Threadripper CPU, cooled by a Corsair Liquid CPU Cooler which keeps temps low with it clocked up to 3.8GHz. These are 16-core/32-thread processors, ideally suited for rendering. The motherboard is the ASRock X399 Taichi, we have 64GB of G.Skill Flare X memory on board and a GeForce 1050 Ti for video-out duty. These machines will deliver a much-welcomed boost to our rendering horsepower. Have a look at some video and photos of the build progress. A complete list of the components can be found below.
